Vacuuming removes surface debris. What it doesn't remove is the soil that's been ground into the carpet fibres over months and years — the fine particulate, allergens, pet dander, and biological residue that accumulates in the pile and backing of the carpet.

Hot water extraction — sometimes called steam cleaning — is the method recommended by every major carpet manufacturer for deep cleaning. High-temperature water is injected into the carpet pile under pressure, agitated to break up embedded soil, and immediately extracted along with the contaminated water. Nothing is left sitting in the carpet.

We pre-treat high-traffic zones, stains, and pet-affected areas before extraction — giving the chemistry time to break down the contamination before it's extracted. The result is noticeably different from a surface-level clean.

Embedded Soil & High-Traffic Wear

Hallways, stairs, and living room traffic lanes accumulate ground-in soil that changes the colour and texture of carpet over time. Extraction lifts it out — restoring the original appearance of the pile.

Pet Odor & Urine Treatment

Pet urine penetrates carpet fibres and reaches the backing and underpad. Enzymatic pre-treatment breaks down the odor-causing compounds at the source — not just masking the smell with fragrance. Full extraction removes the treated material completely.

Stain Treatment

Coffee, wine, food, and other common stains are pre-treated with the appropriate spotter chemistry before extraction. Long-set stains may not always be fully removable, but we'll give you an honest assessment before we begin.

Allergens & Biological Residue

Dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and skin cells accumulate in carpet fibres and contribute to indoor air quality issues. Hot water extraction removes biological material that vacuuming leaves behind — particularly beneficial in homes with allergy or asthma concerns.

Upholstered furniture accumulates the same embedded soil, allergens, pet dander, and biological residue as carpet — but most people only address it when a visible stain appears. By that point, what's built up in the foam and fabric over months and years goes far beyond what's on the surface.

We use hot water extraction on soft furnishings using the same methodology we apply to carpet: pre-treatment first, then extraction — with chemistry and tool attachments selected for the specific fabric type. Nothing harsh on delicate textiles, nothing left sitting in the foam.

What we clean includes sofas and sectionals, dining chairs and armchairs, ottomans and fabric footstools, and headboards or fabric bed bases.

Inspect

We assess fabric type, soiling level, and staining on every carpet and upholstered surface before any product is applied. Fibre type determines chemistry. Condition determines pre-treatment. This step cannot be skipped — the wrong product on the wrong fabric causes damage that can't be undone.

Pre-Treat

High-traffic lanes, pet-affected areas, stains, and odor zones are pre-treated with the correct chemistry and given adequate dwell time before extraction begins. Pre-treatment does the heavy lifting — extraction removes what it breaks down. Skipping this step and going straight to extraction produces a surface-level result.

Extract

Hot water extraction is worked through each surface systematically. Carpet is extracted in overlapping passes; upholstery is worked section by section with the correct tool attachment for each fabric. Proper technique matters — rushed extraction leaves residue and moisture in the pile.

Clear

We walk the full scope before packing up. Any area that needs a second pass gets one. Furniture is repositioned correctly. You do a walkthrough with us before we close out the job — anything that doesn't meet the agreed standard is addressed on the spot.
